Yesterday, after dinner, I got a much-needed break. My daughter was playing outside with her Daddy and I ran upstairs to work on a quilt idea that had been bouncing around in my head for a few days. Fabric had been scattered and strewn about the bedroom in an attempt to figure out what exactly I wanted to do but it just wasn’t coming to me (much to the chagrin of my long-suffering husband). I kept arranging and rearranging and calculating (not my strong suit) until, WHAM!, it hit me. The colors that I wanted to use just jumped out at me and all the light pinks and purples I had thought I wanted to use were banished back to the stash. I started cutting and sewing and liking what I saw. I was able to get two squares done before it was time to put The Tot to bed and this is the result:
This is my happy place!
I like the quilt-making process to be “organic” (an excuse for not really liking/being good at calculating how much fabric I need) so we’ll see how this one unfolds! All part of the fun…

Amy and I both love the top quilt square! Good work!
